Don’t Let The Summer Slip Away!
It’s already starting to be dark longer in the mornings! If you haven’t been out yet now is your chance!! Take advantage of this beautiful weather while it lasts!
This Week!
This week’s Focus of The Week is THE CATCH!
The Catch is the part of the stroke where the oar is placed in the water. It is a transition phase in the rowing cycle!
During the Catch, the arms and back are straight, the heels should be down all the way or slightly lifted if required and the rower lets the blade DROP in the water. A ‘plunk’ sound will be made from the oar as it lands in the water!
Check out our whiteboard at the back of Hatchets for more tips, drills, and a new technique focus every week!
