Starting THIS WEEK we will now have fitness rows at 7:30am as well as 6am and 8:30am!

This week's Focus of the Week is the RECOVERY!

The recovery is the part of the stroke between the release (last week's focus) and the catch!

During the recovery, the boat should run as far as possible so nothing should be interrupting the boat's glide. The body slowly decelerates as you go up the slide! The Early Recovery should be quick: hands tap down and away from the body fast! The Late Recovery should be slow and controlled.

With the recent changes regarding COVID-19 for our region to enter Stage Three(!!), we will be running our fun yearly social rowing events and some new ones this August!

Indian River Relay - TUESDAY AUGUST 11, 9AM-12PM
This is our annual local regatta to bring rowers of all abilities together in a sprint relay race. Teams of 4 of mixed abilities are created on the day of the race from the registered rowers. Racing takes place in two touring singles, which teammates taking turns rowing 600m. Fastest team time for the day wins a big high five and the painting of their handprints on the dock!

Muskoka Poker Run - SATURDAY AUGUST 15, 7AM-12PM
This is an epic 22km singles-only race, open for both racing shells and open water shells. It starts in Port Carling and follows the top of Lake Muskoka on a loop, finishing back in Port Carling!

Georgian Bay Rowing Excursion - FRIDAY AUGUST 21, 1PM - SUNDAY AUGUST 23, 12PM
This trip is a three-day rowing trip for adults, to enjoy some journey-ing on the water and share some time together! We provide all the equipment for your experience. Rowers travel in open water singles, which are stable and safe, yet nimble and beautiful to row. You will be part of a group of up to 6 rowers who will be guided out to a cottage on the south side of Massasauga Provincial Park near the mouth of 12 Mile Bay in Georgian Bay. Trips include all rowing and safety equipment, guided rows, yoga sessions, early morning rows, evening live music, delicious meals, refreshments and accommodations including bedding and linens.
