HATCHETS RACE CREW
Welcome racers! You’ve come to the right spot. If you would like to race with Hatchets, whether you row in our competitive programs, or row on your own - this is where you can pay your fees so that you are eligible to race in sanctioned events across Canada. These fees go towards paying athlete registration fees, and sharing a bit of the club fees that Hatchets is required to pay every year.
What races can you race in - any races you wish!!! We will be attending a select number of regattas, but with this fee, you are eligible to participate in any events by registering under the Hatchets Training Centre organization (our registered not for profit rowing club name). If Hatchets is attending the race, we’ll be organizing the transporting of boats, registrations, etc. But if there are other races you wish to attend, we are happy to help with registration, and help you figure out the logistics for the race.
Tentatively Planned Races for Hatchets to attend:
July 1st, Dominion Day Regatta, 1000m Sprint Race (6 lanes), Toronto Island
Date TBD - Beach Sprints Race
September 6th, Muskoka Fall Classic, 3km Head Race, Gravenhurst
October 4th, Head of the Trent Regatta, 4.6km Head Race, Peterborough

WHERE DO THE FEES GO??
Every year, each rowing club has to pay annual dues in order to retain their status as a registered rowing club in Canada, which allows their rowers to participate in races. These fees are quite a high price for small rowing organizations - but we are happy to pay them to ensure our rowers are able to race. We ask that rowers who wish to race contribute a small portion of the fee to help spread the load out a little. We also pay out much more than we receive in, but every little bit helps.
2025 CLUB FEES HATCHETS IS REQUIRED TO PAY:
RowOntario Club Fee: $819.25
Rowing Canada Club Fee: $490
Total Annual Dues prior to any registered rowers: $1,309.25
2025 INDIVIDUAL FEES FOR EACH ROWER:
RowOntario Individual Fee: $35.03
Rowing Canada Individual Fee: $29.40
Total Annual Dues: $64.43
We ask that those who wish to race pay $99.43 (Required fees + $35) in order to offset some of the costs Hatchets Training Centre incurs to be registered as a club. This allows us to keep our program costs lower, and allows us to let those training on their own register for races for a nominal fee rather than paying a full membership to a club.
