OarBoard® SUP Rowing Units

If you are reading this you’ve probably heard about these amazing rowing units that turn a SUP board, rigid or inflatable, 10’ or longer, into a Rowing Shell in less than 5 minutes. Is it true - YES - it is! We are proud to be a distributor for this amazing product. Out of the package, this rowing unit assembles easily in about 10 minutes, then strap it onto your paddle board and voila - you have a rowing shell to use.

WHY AN OARBOARD®?

We find the main benefits and reasons to invest in this kind of rowing unit are:

• TAKE THEM ANYWHERE. You can take this anywhere in your trunk, on a plane, as a back pack. To the beach, on your lake, to the ocean for your all inclusive beach vacation or to europe to row around the waterways. It will attach it to anyone’s SUP board so long as it is 10’ long (10’ is a short board) and you’ll be able to row. It comes in a travel wheelie bag as a kit with oars (see below) so you can roll or backpack everything your gear to wherever you are heading.

• SUPER STABLE. Since SUP boards are intended to have you standing and paddling, when you are sitting and rowing with your two long oars, this unit allows you to have so much stability and comfort in any water. You can surf waves, pack gear, go camping or just get a workout on a quite morning. The sliding rigger system keeps the rower’s weight centered on the fixed seat so there is no pitching regardless of length of board.

• ROWING WORKOUT IS THE SAME. Although speed and performance change a lot from boat to boat, this rowing unit gives you the same workout as any rowing machine or rowing shell. The speed and performance will be dictated by which board you use it with.

• ANY LEVEL OF ROWER. Whether you have never rowed before, or want this as a remote training option, the OarBoard® is suitable for any level or rower.

NOW - HOW DO YOU ORDER ONE?

You can pick it up from us in Port Carling any season, or we can ship it. Below is the most common way that these units are ordered. As a package with a bag and the oars, everything you need except the paddle board. Product Details

The Oar Board® comes complete, all ready for setting up on your paddleboard. It straps onto any hard or inflatable paddle board in under five minutes and quickly disassembles for transport.

The two-part carbon fiber scull oars are perfect for rowing. Taken apart they are half the length of a pair of 9’6″ sculling oars and much easier to transport and handle. They fit into the two-part oar bag which also fits into the Oar Board® Travel Bag.

If you require a paddleboard to go with your Oar Board®, please contact us about our inflatable 12’, 13’4” or 16’ SUPs which include special deck rings making installing or removing the Oar Board® unit even easier.

Unique Sliding Rigger System
The unique sliding rigger system keeps the rower’s weight centered on its fixed seat, so there’s no pitching or hobby horsing, just a smooth, powerful glide and a row stroke that is virtually identical to a traditional sliding seat system.

Adjustable to Fit Everyone
An adjustable footboard allows the Oar Board® to perfectly fit the shortest to the tallest person. This means your stroke can be adjusted exactly for your individual arm length and your corresponding leg length.

Ease of Handling
For ease of handling the outriggers and struts are already assembled, fitted and folded into the box with the unit. They simply fold out and bolt into position on the sliding carriage. A coin or slot screwdriver can be used to hold the bolt while the self-locking nylon wing nuts are tightened by hand. Oarlocks and fit pins are all preset at the factory and require no adjustment.

The Oar Board® unit itself comes complete with Kwik Loc buckles and straps to quickly mount the unit on your paddleboard, ready to row.

Note that quality gated Concept II oarlocks are fitted as standard items.

Requires No Paddle Board Modification
At 26 lbs the unit is light enough to handle easily and It takes only 5 minutes to set up or remove from your paddle board. No modification is required to your paddle board itself.

Ultra tough polymer plastic construction is used on the frame, sliding tracks, seat, and footboards. Outriggers and struts are in powder-coated, marine-grade aluminum. The fit pins and other fastenings are all stainless steel. The Oar Board® utilizes ultra slippery plastic instead of common wheels and axles that are prone to corrosion, wear and clogging with salt.
