This week is the LAST WEEK of summer rowing at Hatchets! At the end of the summer, our coaches take a well deserved break for a week to enjoy the nice weather and prepare for the year ahead. For those who have been rowing with us all summer, this is a great chance to give your body a rest to allow it to put some serious effort into strengthening and rejuvenating all those muscles you've been working hard all summer. Give yourself the week to take it all in. We will be back in the fall as usual - checkout below for details!
This Week's Focus: Being Present
It is easy to take for granted the beauty of our surroundings and the feeling of our activities day to day. In the middle of winter, it is easy to long for summer, but when we are in it - it is harder to appreciate. With this being the last week of Hatchets Summer Rowing, take the time to appreciate the water, the landscape, the feeling of your body as you are rowing and gliding along the surface of the water. Listen to the sounds the boat and the water make. Watch the wildlife around you and the not so wild life. Wave at people. Smile. Breathe. Take another stroke.
Row to Graham’s Cottage
As our last long row of the summer, this Wednesday, August 26, we'll be rowing to Graham’s cottage (one of our coaches) on Lake Rosseau as our mid way point. It is our final scheduled Wednesday afternoon row of the season, and we’ll travel there and back to make it a 20km day.
We don't have this listed online, but just let us know if you're coming - you know how to contact us:)
Log Rolling
This is the last week of the summer that the log will be open and FREE for anyone to use! Come try it out while you can!

This Fall
It's cross training time! We won't be running rowing lessons this fall - so dust off your running shoes and your bike and have fun enjoying being outside in another way. For those who still want to be on the water, there's still time to purchase a rowing shell and get some great rows in in your own boat. Visit our rowing equipment page to check out some of the options or call us anytime if you're interested. For those interested in a boat next year, this fall is the time to purchase to make sure you have it before the spring season begins.
Next Year
Stay tuned - on Friday we'll be sending out dates for next year’s program times, Georgian Bay Rowing Trips, Regattas and Day Trips.
